If you're one of my hardcore visitors, you've probably noticed some changes around here. I've embarked on a redesign of the site, but got halfway into it and decided that replacing a lot of the site's pages with the new design would take a long time. So I quit--I'll tackle the rest later. If consistency is a must for you, come back in a few weeks or so. For the rest of you--hopefully the majority--just bear with me for a while.

A new area for my site is the Random Word, an area for me to question, ponder and vent. And, as the title implies, it will be completely random. Enjoy!

I had my Math 191 prelim exam on Thursday. It wasn't too bad... A lot of the content I knew from back in AP Calculus (the few brain cells that made it through stats last year helped me out). As long as I score above the mean, it usually puts you in a good position.

I still have yet to know my final score on my chem prelim. My raw score was 138 of 150, but one of the questions was a double redox reaction, which apparently have a particular probability of having two or more correctly balanced equations, especially when the same element is being both oxidized and reduced in the same reaction. I found the "other" one. So, my corrected score should be 142 of 150. Not too shabby.

Our EMT instructor should also have the EMT prelim scores ready by Monday. Monday we will also have our pictures taken for ID badges that are necessary for hospital time and ambulance ride-alongs. Ironically enough, CUEMS is also photographing new members for CUEMS ID tags on Sunday before the general membership meeting.

Today I'll be taking a journey to Cayuga Medical Center, the area's largest hospital. It's the place I'll be spending time for fulfilling the EMT requirements. I'm hoping to introduce myself to the nurses I'll be working with since Saturdays will be the easiest to get down there to spend a few hours. Kevin T. will be coming with me so he can inquire about volunteer opportunities. He's also an engineer and on the premed track.

Not much else is too exciting at Cornell. The weather is noticeably cooler than a few weeks ago [finally!]. Just take a peek up at the weather icon!

Adios all!

Aaron
