Quick quiz! What's white, falls from the sky, and feels a little cold. YES! It's SNOW!
Indeed,
snow fell today for the first time this season. It wasn't much at all, just
a light dusting (and, in fact, more may come tonight). However, it's a sure
sign that winter is on its way. Temperatures hovered around 38 degrees most
of all day. Unfortunately, Andrew missed the snow that was falling at his college
today. Penn State and Cornell seem to have very similar weather patterns.
Today is day 3 of my 4-day break. Tomorrow I will actually tackle the bulk of my homework and get ready for classes on Wednesday. So what have I done over break? Not too much entirely productive. I've also had to suffer through greasy, unhealthy food served at the convenience store across the way (open during limited hours, to boot).
But the food situation is little price to pay to have 4 days of quiet relaxation. And quiet it is! My oh my. This dorm turned from a 24-hour house of noise to a deathly silent ghost town in a matter of 12 hours. Everyone fled this place. Of course, the majority of the students at this school are from New York State, and have little trouble finding their way home during short breaks. Indeed, I am one of the few who remain. And it's almost scary how quiet it really is around here.
Even so, 2 of my 4 other roommates have stayed with me, so it's not too bad. Only problem is, during this break there is very little to do around town. Almost everything shuts down.
So, that's just about it for my last 3 days. Not too busy, just a little bored, but a welcome feeling after weeks of straight work.
Adios for now!
