I apologize in advance to my fellow collegians who have yet to say this, but I feel I must.
I'M DONE!!!
Indeed, semester one has come to a close for Cornell. Folks are already going home, and I'll be into PDX late Saturday night.
I wrapped up the 3rd of my three finals yesterday with Computer Science. At least I thought it was easier than the first two. CS is far more about thinking than memorizing. I like that a bit more... Besides, I thought one of the problems was a really cool concept of programming. Not often do intro CS students get to program (much less in the exam environment) something that could actually be applied to the real world. This problem was a simulation of assembly line-style worker efficiency. Barring any stupid mistakes, I think I did fairly well!
Yesterday was really, really windy. Gusts in the late morning hit about 60 mph. It died down by early evening, and now we receive word of a moderate winter storm moving in tonight, possibly dumping up to 7 inches of snow in less than an hour. We shall see! New York, unlike Oregon, has a super clear-roads policy. Once the snow stops, almost all major roads are completely clear in just a couple hours.
The only thing I have left to do before I leave is to get a flu and meningitis vaccine (and perhaps Hep A as well, depending on what they recommend for one sitting). Oh yeah, and pack. But honestly, who does that more than a couple hours from leaving anyway.
In any case, I'm very ready to go home! See you in Portland. :)
Aaron
