ONE more day of classes!! My MWF classes have come to a close. Completely finished with math and physics lectures. Just the intro engineering course lecture, math and physics sections, and our final writing class.

Then comes my extra credit presentation on home networking. You can view one slide of my part of the presentation here. It's just 8 minutes long, with 2 other partners. It counts for up to 5 or 6% tacked on top of our final grade. That means an 87% (B+) has the potential to be an A (93%). Cool stuff huh?

Slope Day in just 2 days!!! Weather.com has retracted their forecast for showers and thunderstorms, and now it will be haze and 74 degrees. 74 degree beer gets absorbed faster than cold beer...and we all know what happens after that. The 7-11pm shift should be very exciting. Last year the truck was hardly ever IN service, having one call right after another.

I will get back my math test results tomorrow. That's about all there is to say on that!

In physics we shattered a wine glass today, using a wave generator and a speaker. The frequency was set, of course, to the glass' resonance (natural) frequency. It didn't really shatter impressively... the whole top "bowl" of the glass broke off near the stem and fell over. That was about the most exciting demo all semester.

It's insanely hot here... I sit in my room, around midnight, and it's still pushing 80 degrees and I'm nearly dying because of it. I'm not one to take cold showers, but in times like these, it's necessary if you want any sleep. Even my computer's fan is running, which it generally doesn't do when it's idle, if that tells you anything.

Our "dead" week is approaching, then I have my EMT exam on May 10 (easy), then three finals in a row Monday and Tuesday. Then I finish packing Wednesday, when I box and ship most of my items home or to summer storage, then leave on the 17th for Portland. Yes, I'm too excited.

My hopes of EMT-ing over the summer are fading slightly. There is simply too much red tape in my way. I won't even receive my New York State EMT card until the 2nd week I'm home, at which point I must send it and all the paperwork to Oregon EMS, who takes at least 6 weeks to process it. Needless to say, I cannot work for AMR or Metro West without Oregon EMT certification. That puts me into end of July. I doubt they will hire me for 1 month.

That's all for now... Enjoy the rest of your weeks!

Aaron
